Position Summary Information Be a Tar Heel! Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit The mission of the School of Social Work is to advance equity, transform systems, improve lives. The School's curriculum supports the mission and recognizes the uniqueness of the region served, including concerns for disadvantaged, vulnerable, and oppressed individuals, families and communities. Classes provide rigorous and evidence-based content, and give students the opportunity to explore theory, learn intervention skills and engage in challenging dialogue with colleagues. Position Summary The primary purpose of this position is to support the Associate Dean for Advancement and Assistant Dean for Strategic Communications and Marketing including but not limited to: day-to-day operations such as updating, querying, and analyzing data and providing reports from the development database; submitting purchase requisitions and processing contracts; developing relationships and serving as a key liaison between external and internal customers; reconciling travel expenses, reporting, and reimbursements; extensive calendaring, including supporting the content calendar for the communications team and scheduling meetings for the Associate and Assistant Dean. The Executive Assistant will also serve an event planning and project management role, assisting in coordination of alumni receptions, donor events and functions with the Dean, Associate Dean, faculty and staff and coordinating workflow/project updates and supporting marketing events for the communications team. The Executive Assistant will be involved in extensive high-level public contact that requires a keen awareness of protocol and cultural sensitivity. They must analyze, prioritize, and track multiple complex schedules, confidential information, and multiple projects with attention to efficient facilitation of workflow, timeliness, accuracy, and high-quality work in a fast-paced environment with routine interruptions - all while providing skillful facilitation and processing of information, including excellent verbal and written correspondence. This individual will need to possess a great sense of flexibility and be able to complete additional duties as assigned. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements High school diploma or equivalency and three years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or Associate's degree in secretarial science, business administration, or a related discipline and one year of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience ; or Bachelor's degree, preferably in business administration or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
