Ultrasound Tech Job Details

• Position: Locum Tenens OB/GYN Ultrasound Technologist
• Location: Wilmington, NC 28401 (North Carolina healthcare job)
• Facility: Hospital-based outpatient OB/GYN clinic
• Assignment Type: Travel contract
• Start Date: October 8, 2025
• End Date: January 7, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (no weekends or call)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Shift: 8-hour days
• Orientation: 40 hours
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1890–$1940
• Patient Age Groups: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Equipment: GE Expert 22, GE E8, V-scan ProAir
• Charting System: EPIC

Ultrasound Technologist Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent OB/GYN ultrasound experience (hospital or outpatient clinic)
• Current ARDMS certification (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• OB/GYN specialty certification
• Active North Carolina state license or Compact license
• Valid driver's license
• Proficiency with Epic charting system
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and infection control
• Skilled in performing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester OB ultrasounds
• Full availability for orientation and schedule changes
• Preferred: Two recent manager or supervisor references (within past 12 months)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of OB/GYN ultrasounds, including GYN scans, dating/viability, anatomy, growth, nuchal translucency (NT), and biophysical profiles (BPP)
• Complete approximately 10 ultrasound exams daily in a fast-paced outpatient clinic
• Operate GE Expert 22, GE E8, and V-scan ProAir ultrasound equipment
• Document patient care and imaging results in EPIC electronic medical records
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of 9 midwives and 4 OB/GYN physicians
• Provide compassionate care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Adhere to strict infection control and isolation precaution protocols
• Participate in orientation and complete all required training modules
