Java Developer

Akkodis is seeking a Java Developer for a Contract with a client in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate will design and maintain distributed microservices and build high‑throughput Kafka pipelines, while also deploying and troubleshooting applications on OpenShift.

Rate Range: $45/hour to $50/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Java Developer job responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and maintain Java‑based microservices within a distributed, cloud‑native environment.

• Build and optimize high‑throughput, low‑latency data pipelines using Apache Kafka (producers, consumers, streams, schema management).

• Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot containerized applications on OpenShift or Kubernetes‑based platforms.

• Implement CI/CD pipelines and support DevOps practices to ensure seamless, reliable software delivery.

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on architecture, solution design, and technical requirements.

• Monitor and optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and security while resolving production issues.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

• 8–10 years of professional experience in Java development with strong exposure to microservices and distributed systems.

• Proven hands‑on experience building and managing Kafka-based data pipelines (producers, consumers, streams, schema management).

• Strong practical expertise deploying and troubleshooting applications on OpenShift or similar Kubernetes-based platforms.

Pay Details: $45.00 to $50.00 per hour
