Social Worker Job Details

• Location: Asheville, NC 28801 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)
• Facility Setting: Mental Health and Wellness Center (24-bed inpatient unit)
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Oct 13, 2025 – Jan 12, 2026)
• Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM (8-hour shifts)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Weekend Requirement: None
• EMR System: Cerner
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1870–$1920

Social Worker Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work or related field
• Active Licensed Social Worker (LSW) license in North Carolina
• Minimum 1 year of experience in behavioral health, mental health, or geriatric care
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications required
• Strong assessment, counseling, and group therapy skills
• Business casual attire (jeans permitted on Fridays)

Social Worker Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans for geriatric mental health patients
• Lead family sessions, individual counseling, and group therapy for older adults
• Participate in daily interdisciplinary treatment team meetings with psychiatrists, advanced practice providers (APPs), registered nurses (RNs), and behavioral health technicians
• Document all interventions and patient progress using Cerner EMR
• Collaborate with a supportive, experienced healthcare staff in a modern, well-equipped facility
