Baking Packaging and Delivery Driver

Position Summary

The Bakery Packaging Assistant is a part -time, non-exempt position responsible for the receiving, re-stocking of baking/production ingredients, stacking and packaging production/baked goods. Inspects final products and adheres to all safety and food handling guidelines and standards. This position also requires delivery of goods to various locations in Winston Salem.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Product Handling & Sanitation

• Handling of food products following safe food handling and sanitation regulations.
• Cleaning and sanitizing of all tools or equipment used in production, packaging and services as necessary.
• Assists in maintaining storage shelves, containers, and refrigeration unit in a clean and organized manner at all times.
• Perform final check for defective product.
• Properly Measure, weigh, and count products.
• Package finished baked goods properly in approved boxes/ containers.
• Ensure the baked goods are aesthetically placed in boxes/containers.
• Properly label the finished product correctly utilizing approved marketing tools.
• Handle baking supplies and equipment inventory and procure out of stock items.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

• Communicates any problem/concern of the department to manager in a timely manner.

• Attend required meetings and trainings.
• Follow OSMG policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• At least one year of related experience and or training.
• Valid Driver License

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Work is performed in a kitchen environment and therefore involves moderate risks and discomforts that require special safety precautions. Kitchen equipment such as ovens and carts must be used with special care and attention to maintenance and safety.
• Considerable physical activity. May require handling of objects that can weigh up to 50 lbs.
• Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
• Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises
• May be required to stand for long periods of time.
• May involve some repetitive motions when packaging items.
• Engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling of parts and part containers.
